The Challenge

Women in agriculture are faced with greater limitations than men to access to resources, including land, financing, and education, which hinders their ability to fully participate in and benefit from agricultural activities. In fact, women only receive 7% of global agricultural investment. Additionally, cultural norms and discriminatory practices further marginalize women, restricting their economic opportunities and social mobility.

The Opportunity

A more inclusive approach to agriculture is not just good for women, it also helps increase productivity, instill sustainable ways of working, and elevate entire communities out of poverty. It makes good economic as well as ethical sense. Root Capital designs inclusive programs that address the specific needs and priorities of women farmers and entrepreneurs.
